There are three standard bets in MLB games. The first type and most common in baseball betting is the moneyline bet. This is where you bet on which team will win regardless of the score. The second standard MLB bet is the total. This is when the book sets a number to try and predict the combined final score and the bettor either bets under or over that number. The third and final MLB bet type is the run line, which works much like spread betting in other sports. However, the run line is always 1.5 runs. This means the favorite must win by at least 2 runs and the underdog has to lose by less than 2 runs for the side to cash.
